I joined Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe University (LCOOU) in January 2021 as an adjunct instructor and became a full-time faculty member the following September. My medical background began as a veterinary assistant, where I worked for 13 years before pursuing my Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) license. I worked for Sawyer County Ambulance while earning my Associate Degree in Nursing from LCOOU. My nursing career has focused on emergency room and medical-surgical care, while also serving as a house supervisor. Later, I earned my Master of Science in Nursing Education from Grand Canyon University. In addition to my nursing career, I continue to serve my community through first response work with the Town of Hayward Fire Department.

I chose to work for Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe University because I wanted the opportunity to give back to the community while helping educate and prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals. As a graduate of LCOOU myself, the university played an important role in my own educational journey, and returning as an instructor allowed me to support students in reaching their goals. I value the close-knit learning environment, the emphasis on community and culture, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through education and healthcare training.
