  • I was born and raised in Terre Haute, Indiana, which you might be familiar with if you're a fan of basketball star Larry Bird or Scatman Crothers, who voiced the black cat in Disney's Aristocats. In 2008, I began my college career at Indiana State University, where I studied English literature, German, and creative writing, graduating with my BA in 2012 and MA in 2016. In 2015, I taught my first class and began tutoring for ISU's writing center as a graduate student. For six years, I worked as a teacher and tutor for both ISU and Ivy Tech Community College in Terre Haute before deciding to leave the area to further my career. When I spotted a job opening for Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe University in July 2021 and was fortunate enough to interview for them, I knew this school was exactly where I belonged. Getting to know the students through their writing has been such a privilege this year, but another source of joy is my wonderful Siamese cat, Pixie. I work hard not only for myself but so Pixie can have a happy life.

  • Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe University is an amazing school. As a small college, we offer many services and one-on-one support that larger schools can't always provide. Because we set a goal of 100% retainment, every single employee here will work hard to make sure students have a great experience here. At LCOOU, you will earn a quality education as long as you work hard, and ideally, you'll have some fun here as well. The atmosphere is easygoing and friendly, so we all hope that you will enjoy your time while you're here.

  • Creating art, cooking, cats, anime/manga, rockhounding, toy collecting, true crime, coffee, classic rock; and of course, teaching English!
