Student Account Amnesty Program

The Student Account Amnesty Program assists students in obtaining their degree or certificate and waiving their prior debt. 

You are eligible to participate in the Student Account Amnesty Program if you:

  • Were previously enrolled in Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe College and have a balance.

How to participate:

  • Apply to Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe College

    • If you have been away from us for more than a year, you will need to reapply to the college.

  • Apply for Financial aid

    • Complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid at FAFSA.gov. 

  • Complete the Student Account Amnesty Program Application

    • This is a promise to yourself to continue your education. 

  • Complete Withholding Funds Form

    • We require that you fill out a withholding funds form that you agree that if you are eligible for any refunds for the current semester, that you withhold 25% to go towards your prior balance.

  • Complete payment plan

    • We require that you fill out a reoccurring payment plan with the business office of an amount that best suits you.

  • Meet with advising and Register for Classes

    • A college advisor will help you register in your program of choice, whether you want to continue on your original field of study or start a new one. 

  • Attend Financial Advising Coaching

    • To remain eligible, you must contact our financial aid department three times during the semester to go over any issues or questions you may have about the program

  • Complete Your Credential

    • Once you are enrolled in our Amnesty program, you will need to stay enrolled for the current term and maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.  Dependent upon how many credits you are enrolled and you have met all requirements, we will waive the designated tuition at the end of the semester (see application to see how much is waived per credit load).

We want to see you succeed!  We are here to help assist you on your journey through college and as this program means amounts of your debt will be waived, it is your responsibility to secure the tuition and fees for the term for which you enroll.
