The Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwa Community College Medical Assistant
program will utilize the following student goals within the curriculum in
order to prepare competent entry-level medical assistants.
The program will prepare competent entry-level medical assistants to:
A. Demonstrate professionalism in a health care setting
B. Perform medical office operational functions
C. Instruct patients
D. Apply legal and ethical concepts
E. Communicate effectively
F. Provide patient care
G. Process insurance claims
H. Perform diagnostic testing
I. Perform specimen collection
J. Prepare principles of medical asepsis
K. Prepare special accounting entries
L. Perform bookkeeping procedures
M. Perform clerical functions
N. Apply the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective
(behavior) learning domains
