A Great Big Thanks to all of the Purple Loosestrife Volunteers we had this summer.

This summer you can help us map Purple Loosestrife on the Chippewa Flowage.  This mapping will help any management/control actions being taken on the Flowage.  It will also give you a chance to understand a little more about invasive species, the Chippewa Flowage, and you will see the impacts of invasive species first hand.  The steps are simple; First, contact me and let me know you are interested in helping out (Please be sure to include your contact information).  We will send you a copy of our Purple Loosestrife Volunteer Survey Guide, for you to read over.  Second, attend the short volunteer training/cookout, which will consist of some invasive plant identification, research protocol information, selecting survey sections, etc.  Then you map your survey section any time between mid-July and the end of August.  Once you have completed your survey you will then return it to us and we will enter all the data.  By completing the survey you will have helped us gather important information on Purple Loosestrife infestations on the Chippewa Flowage, which will be used for management and control activities.  A description of the survey is provided in the Purple Loosestrife Volunteer Survey Guide (below).
