Building Communities of Respect

The first of the four sessions was a great success. Hundreds attended the Friday evening community event. The Saturday session was as equally successful smaller numbers but just as effective.

I have to say if you have never heard Sherman Alexie speak, I am sorry you missed this chance. If you ever get the chance to see him, hear him speak “GO”

He is an entertaining and graceful speaker. One moment you would be laughing, the next you would be in shock because you just realized something said pertained to you or someone you know. Beyond mere entertainment with one word Alexie provokes a great deal of thought.

We hope there where seeds planted for self reflection. We know some seeds will bloom rather quickly, others well it may take a while, but as long as the seeds are there we have been successful and accomplished what we set out to do.

Thank You

Sherman

From Extension for helping us open our eyes.

We hope to see all of you at the next session February 8th at UW Barron County
