MUS  120           Native American Song and Dance        3 cr

This course introduces students to the historical and cultural evolution of Native American singing. Particular focus is given to singing at social gatherings and pow-wows. Flag, honor, veteran, warrior, side step, 40's chicken, swan, fish, crow-hop, snake and other songs relative to pow-wow contexts will be explored through singing at the drum. (Fall)

Topics will reflect particular competencies of the faculty, and will consider the needs and requests of the student.  (Fall, Spring)
