The purpose of this web site is to provide a easily accessible place for faculty and other interested individuals to learn about and follow the procedure for the introduction of new courses and programs at LCO Ojibwe Community College.
The Higher Learning Commission, our regional accrediting association, throughout the years has indicated its expectations that faculty and administrators of the college are responsible for the coherence of the curriculum and integrity of the academic process (Core Component 1d), most of Criterion Three (Student Learning & Effective Teaching). At LCO Ojibwe Community College, the Assessment and Curriculum Committee oversees the introduction of new and revised courses that are brought to the committee from the academic divisions.
The LCOOCC Assessment and Curriculum Committee has approved the following documents for new course and new program proposals.

The Curriculum Approval Process memo describes the steps to be taken in sequence when proposing new courses or new programs.
The Curriculum Committee Proposal Form accompanies new courses and new programs. It should be completed prior to submission to the Curriculum Committee. Because a course syllabus should accompany the proposal, a Syllabus Template is available.
The Syllabus Template is the preferred format for course syllabi of current and proposed courses. Save the Word Document to your local drive and use it to create your course syllabi.
The Syllabus Tutorial is provided as a guide to the various components of a course syllabus.
