OUTCOMES

OBJECTIVES

MEANS OF ASSESSMENT

Students will be able to design, implement, analyze, interpret & document results of an experiment.

 

1.      Student will develop an understanding of the scientific method.

2.      Student will learn how to set up and implement an experiment.

3.      Student will be exposed to statistical Analysis, data interpretation and documentation.

4.      Student will learn a Native American story pertaining to animals.

5.      Student will learn to write in the APA format.

·         In General Biology II, a minimum of 75% of the students will score an 80 or better, out of 100, on their required experimental write-up.

Students will develop a basic proficiency in lab techniques and the use of standard lab equipment.

1.      Students will learn and observe basic lab safety procedures.

2.      Students will learn dimensional analysis and problem solving skills.

3.      Students will demonstrate proficiency in the use of standard lab equipment. 

 

·         All students will demonstrate adherence to required safety procedures as listed on the Safety Checklist for each lab course.

·         A minimum of 75% of the students in General Chemistry I and II will complete assigned problem sets with at least a 75% accuracy rate.

·         A minimum of 75% of the students in each lab course will successfully complete 75% of the equipment skills on each course's checklist.
