Associate of Applied Science--Medical Assistant

OUTCOMES

OBJECTIVES

MEANS OF ASSESSMENT

The student will perform as a multi-skilled practitioner qualified to provide health care under the direct supervision of a Physician.

Students will:

1.      demonstrate technical proficiency in the required DACUM competencies for medical assistants (examples: vital signs, blood draws, assisting with examinations, etc.)

2.      apply in an Externship Program their competencies.

·         At least 80% of the students completing the Medical Assistant Program will receive a passing grade on the standardized DACUM exam.

·         At least 80% of the students will successfully complete a 8 week (hours/week) Externship Program with a score of 24 or higher on the Instructor/Evaluator Reference Form.

 

The student will show personal behaviors consistent with the expectations of the profession and employer

Students will:

1.      demonstrate efficient time-management skills.

2.      perform with professionalism in their clinical experience.

 

·         At least 80% of the students will successfully complete a 8 week (hours/week) Externship Program with a score of 24 or higher on the Instructor/Evaluator Reference Form.

·         98% of the students will receive a favorable review, by the Instructor/Evaluator on the Clinical Evaluation survey.

The student will demonstrate academic achievement through successful completion of a national exam

Students will:

1.      successfully complete the Certified Medical Assistant Examination.

·         At least 85% of the students completing the Medical Assistant Program will apply to write and pass the Certified Medical Assistant Examination.
