OBJECTIVES

MEANS OF ASSESSMENT

The student will demonstrate a foundation level of knowledge and skill in their ability to locate, gather and synthesize information.

1.      The student will be able to utilize print and on-line sources to conduct research.

2.      The student will be able to compose a paper integrating research from multiple sources addressing a topic relevant to their degree area.

 

 

 

·         Faculty will be surveyed at the end of each semester as to the students' capability with research techniques (see Appendix CI-GE-1).

·         A student survey will be conducted upon completion of EDC 110 Introduction to Higher Education to determine student confidence in their ability to locate, gather, and synthesize information (see Appendix CI-GE-2)

·         In Composition I the student will submit a Research Paper that correctly utilizes APA/MLA styles to reference both print and on-line sources.

·         In Composition I the student will submit a Research paper that demonstrates the student's ability to effectively find and use on-line resources, book, magazine or journal, and news sources of information.

·         At least 75% of students who enroll will complete Composition I with a passing grade.
