NSTI - National summer transportation institute
2012 Program Dates: June 4 - June 29, 2012 (Click for Brochure)
The National Summer Transportation Institute (NSTI) at LCOOCC is funded by the Federal Highway Administration and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. LCOOCC’s NSTI purpose is to provide middle school students with opportunities to develop awareness about and interest in exploring jobs and careers in the transportation industry. LCOOCC accomplishes this by providing a 4-week program in June of each year. Weekly themes of land, water, air, and rail, while incorporating safety and environmental messages throughout are taught to students. Guest speakers, hands-on activities, computer software, and field trips assist with providing a very comprehensive transportation curriculum to students.
